Waiting for Color

There hasn't been too much to take photos of lately with everything covered in white snow. All photography comes out looking black and white in winter it seems. Now the melting begins and I really dislike the Spring in the northeast. Mud season is very muddy. In fact the road is more slippery in Spring than Winter. All winter logging trucks have been traveling our little back road and clearing what must be a huge area farther up the hill from me. Just before this thaw they brought all their equipment down off the hill and it's a good thing, because their trucks would be stuck for sure in the mud. Recently I was stuck behind one of their 18-wheelers that couldn't make it up the hill because of a recent snowfall. I sat for 20 minutes while the driver put chains on the wheels so he could move off to the side for me, and others, to pass. He had to have a tow up to the logging area that morning.

At least the there was no ice and he didn't slide back down the hill into you. I watched that show Ice Truckers once and your story reminded me of those guys driving equipment in frozen snowy hard to get to places too. Not a job I would want.

You could always photo shop some color into your snow. ;)
